Rep. Patrick Neville, the leader of the Colorado House Republicans, has called me a “snowflake” for politely asking him, in a blog post last week, to remove news from his Facebook page that’s been retracted by CBS and the Associated Press.

Elbert County School Board member gets high praise for removing fake news from Facebook page
Showing the kind of respect for facts that you’d expect from a school board member, Scott Wills yesterday removed a meme he’d shared Oct. 14 on his Facebook page depicting a Hillary Clinton quote that’s widely been proven to be fake. Here’s the quote from the meme:
A leading Colorado Republican’s Facebook post is proven false, but he hasn’t removed it
“BREAKING: Quarterback Colin Kaepernick tells CBS he’ll stand during the national anthem if given chance to play football in NFL again.”
Columnists shouldn’t have trumpeted outlier poll showing free speech is “deeply imperiled” on campuses
The Denver Post has run two guest opinion columns (by a local columnist here and by a syndicated columnist here) relying heavily on a dubious study, financed by the right-wing Koch Foundation and conducted by a UCLA professor, which concluded that “freedom of expression is deeply imperiled on U.S. campuses.”
The embrace of GOP State House candidate Raymond Garcia reveals the rot within Colorado GOP leadership
According to two-time State House candidate Raymond Garcia, who once admitted everything he posts on Facebook is “pretty much a joke”, he “doesn’t follow along with unsubstantiated stories”.
Gardner, who called questions about women’s health a distraction, has now voted nine times to defund Planned Parenthood
Back when he was running for U.S. Senate in 2014, Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) dismissed his opponents’ repeated accusations that Gardner would use his power to restrict access to abortion and contraception.
The Colorado GOP must cut ties with racist fundraiser Tom Ready
I wrote a few weeks ago about the perplexing association that some in the Colorado GOP maintain with Tom Ready. He’s the guy that throws a “Steak Fry fundraiser” every year to benefit Colorado Republicans. He’s also a racist and a conspiracy-theorist nut. A few years ago, while running for county commissioner, he revealed that he’s a Sandy Hook truther, and over the past few years he’s posted a non-stop stream of racist Facebook posts.
Colorado GOP official doesn’t seem to mind murderous threats on his Facebook posts
I’ve written a few times about Joshua Hosler, a failed primary candidate for Colorado’s House of Representatives, Facebook provocateur and Vice Chair of the El Paso County GOP. Mr. Hosler was endorsed by Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams.
Christian in name only: How Trump’s victory has emboldened anti-LGBTQ bigotry
UPDATE 9/12/2017: This post was updated below to include a response from Jeff Hunt, director of the Centennial Institute. Among other things, he writes, “It is a strategic objective of Colorado Christian University to: Impact our culture in support of traditional family values, sanctity of life, compassion for the poor, Biblical view of human nature, limited government, personal freedom, free markets, natural law, original intent of the Constitution and Western civilization.” See his entire response below.
