Anti-abortion bills defeated after women speak out about their personal experiences at Colorado’s Capitol
Two bills seeking to curtail access to abortion were defeated in Colorado’s state legislature today following a press conference during which several reproductive rights advocates spoke out–including some who explained how access to safe and legal abortion has been crucial in their personal lives.
The Republican tax bill is being stuffed with provisions that go way beyond taxes, including language that for the first time recognizes fertilized eggs (zygotes) in federal law.

Following a rally Tuesday at the office of U.S Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO) in Aurora to oppose the House GOP tax plan, multiple people attempting to meet with Coffman’s staff and deliver tax-related notes written by rally-goers were turned away and asked to leave the notes outside the door.
The GOP just released a tax plan that eliminates programs to support small businesses that spend money to make themselves more accessible for people with disabilities and another that encourages business owners to hire vets. It would also end a tax credit that helps people to adopt children.
