Shortly following its assembly on March 19, the Fremont County GOP released a list of all its adopted resolutions, which include working to ban Dominion Voting across Colorado, opposing Critical Race Theory in schools, and supporting physicians’ right to administer off-label drugs to treat COVID-19.
This afternoon at the Colorado Capitol, a few hours before Colorado lawmakers were set to discuss a controversial GOP-backed measure that would clear a legal pathway for doctors to write off-label prescriptions for unproven COVID-19 treatments, including for ivermectin – an anti-parasitic medication primarily used in animals and livestock – an activist from ProgressNow Colorado, who dressed as a horse, turned heads as he stood on the Grand Staircase, carrying signs that read, “Ivermectin is for horses” and “Hooves off my horse paste.”
Luck Amid reports of some of the lowest COVID-19 case counts in Colorado since the pandemic began – a strong sign that existing COVID protocols such as vaccines are working – state Rep. Stephanie Luck (R-Penrose) is attempting to resurrect a failed bill that seeks to legitimize dangerous and unproven treatments for the illness.
In his monthly local radio appearance Monday, Colorado State Rep. Rod Pelton (R-Cheyenne Wells) announced his intention to run for state Senate, after being drawn out of his current House district by the newly-submitted legislative districting maps pending approval by the Colorado Supreme Court.
Despite the Pfizer COVID vaccination winning U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval last week, Colorado Rep. Rod Pelton (R-Cheyenne Wells) still considers all available COVID vaccines “experimental,” preferring to treat himself with Ivermectin — a well-known, mostly veterinary drug repurposed by some as an unproven treatment and preventative drug for COVID — while choosing to forgo getting vaccinated.
