Colorado Senate Primary Showcases Republican Divide on Abortion

The U.S. Senate race between Colorado state Rep. Ron Hanks (R-Cañon City) and businessman Joe O’Dea is highlighting a growing divide amongst Republicans on the subject of abortion. The debate over how extreme GOP politicians should be on abortion has not just affected Colorado’s Senate race, but was also front and center in Louisiana, where earlier this month House Bill 813, a near duplicate of Rep. Dave Williams’s (R-CO Springs) failed personhood bill, was blocked not by pro-abortion Democrats, but by Republicans and anti-abortion groups that felt it went too far.

Lamborn and Boebert ‘Hold the Line’ at CO Springs Event

Friday’s Hold the Line conference at The Road Church in Colorado Springs featured a host of prominent political figures, including U.S. Representatives Doug Lamborn (R-CO) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO). Comprising nearly a third of Colorado’s delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives, Lamborn and Boebert addressed the crowd of evangelical Christians and discussed their political agendas within the context of their faith.

House Hearing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon: ‘They Are Real’

The U.S. House Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, and Counterproliferation (C3) Subcommittee held an open hearing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon, or UAP, which addressed the work of the recently created UAP Task Force. It was the first public hearing regarding the U.S. government’s investigations into unexplained phenomena since the 2017 New York Times article which revealed the existence of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a military program that investigated reports of UFOs, and the June, 2021, release of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s preliminary report from the UAP Task Force.

CO Governor Candidate Greg Lopez’s Advice for Pregnant Rape Victims: ‘Really Evaluate How This Might Change for the Positive’

Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Lopez appeared on Leland Conway’s radio show yesterday to discuss his interview with Kyle Clark of 9News. Lopez reiterated his position against abortion and Colorado’s Reproductive Health Equity Act (RHEA), which enshrines access to abortion under Colorado law, saying that victims of rape who become pregnant should “think of the long-term situation” instead of opting for abortion.
