The conservative Common Sense Institute (CSI) says its rigorous research provides Coloradans with facts and data-driven analysis to help make informed decisions. Yet three days after the Jan. 6 riot, CSI’s founder shared a debunked election fraud conspiracy video with insurrectionist attorney John Eastman and set a meeting to discuss it further.
New Era Colorado, a nonprofit political advocacy group, has once again demanded that the University of Colorado Boulder close its Bruce D. Benson Center for the Study of Western Civilization — a bastion of conservative thought at the school that’s become notorious for some of the controversial scholars it’s employed.
After a federal district court dismissed a lawsuit by Republican activists to close primary elections due to lack of standing of the complainants, attorney John Eastman is threatening to sue the Colorado Republican Party party to force it to join the lawsuit in order to revive it, with the hope of ultimately barring unaffiliated voters from participating in future GOP primaries.
In previously unreported comments from a radio interview, John Eastman said that the Jan. 6 investigators were egregiously “shredding four of ten of the Bill of Rights” in a “classic fishing expedition” in their quest to investigate causes and culpability for the Jan. 6 riots.
Unaffiliated voters will be able to participate in Colorado’s primaries in June after a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit from Republicans seeking to prevent the group from voting.
