U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner built his political career in Colorado, and rallied grassroots Republican support, by opposing abortion, even for rape and incest. Part of that, of course, has meant that he’s opposed and vilified Planned Parenthood.

Are these conservative young politicos the future of the Colorado Republican Party?
Following the rise of Donald Trump, it’s worth asking what impact the brazen bigotry and sexism coming from our nation’s leadership may have on politically inclined young people.
“I want to be a ‘person of interest,'” writes Colorado Trump official
UPDATE: Former Colorado Trump Campaign staffer Dede Laugesen replied to my request for clarification of her Facebook post: “Facebook is a place of friendly comments and such, and I was just making an off the cuff remark about what it must be like to be a celebrity like Nigil Farage,” said Laugesen. “That’s all.”
El Paso County GOP vice chair “loves” that repealing the Clean Power Plan will threaten the nation’s health
Joshua Hosler, the vice chair of the Republican party in El Paso County, recently “loved” this post on Facebook:
El Paso County GOP vice chair hearts Trump for insulting our allies
I had to do a double-take when I saw this. Joshua Hosler “hearting” a headline that reads: “President Trump basically insulted all our allies to their faces.”
Two Colorado State Senators “like” Facebook posts cheering violence against reporter
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that conservatives in the Colorado State Senate appear to cheer the violence against a reporter by a Republican Congressional candidate in Montana. They used to be much more careful about appearing to endorse political violence. What has changed that they would now do something so careless? Perhaps it’s the election of a president who seems to encourage violence and who constantly attacks the free press and reporters.
Denver radio host warns against “living next door” to a Muslim
Pick a day on Denver talk radio, and you’ll find Muslims under attack in the most heartbreaking, insulting, and ignorant ways.
Seth Rich conspiracy as a perfect vehicle for right-wing delusion
As you may know, the right has been making outrageous, unsubstantiated claims about the murder of Seth Rich, a Democratic operative who was killed. Sean Hannity has been pushing the story along with right-wing fake news outlets. This is, of course, nothing new for the hard-right, who have been clinging to long-debunked stories of the Clintons having people murdered for 30 years. Here are a couple of examples:
Neville opposes funding for international women’s health programs
Colorado State Sen. Tim Neville (R-Littleton) has never been shy to broadcast his supposed “pro-life” position. When you look under the hood, however, it seems that he must not care about reducing the abortion rate. How else could you explain his support for policies that would increase abortion rates and make it harder for women to receive life-saving medical care? Today’s example is his support for the so-called “Mexico City Policy” first implemented by Ronald Reagan:
Colorado Congressman Ken Buck says journalists are “inventing this Russia story”
Some Colorado conservatives are joining Trump in blaming the press for the daily-eye-pop-head-spin news stories streaming from the White House.
