CO Springs Planning Commissioners Reject Activists’ Attempt to Stop Data Center
Last week the Colorado Springs Planning Commission denied an appeal of the administrative decision to approve the Project Taurus data center. The project will be housed in a former Intel microchip manufacturing plant that was previously home to a Bitcoin mining operation near Garden of the Gods Road. The project has elicited widespread concern from residents and activists — who have raised concerns about noise, water consumption, and utility rates — during a series of community meetings. The Planning Department determined that a data center use is permitted under current zoning and the city’s Urban Development Code, which resulted in an administrative approval.
Boulder Police Pray with Anti-Abortion Activists Amid Rising Tensions
Recent social media posts from anti-abortion group White Rose Resistance have raised concerns from pro-abortion nonprofit Cobalt. White Rose Resistance organizer Sean Bateman posted a selfie on Instagram with the caption, “Today is a kill day. Pray for me and the team as we go to plead for life at RISE Collective.” When the Boulder Police Department responded to the protesters after concerned calls from RISE staff, officers were photographed praying with Bateman.

The group will spend $47 million to flip federal House and Senate seats and to support various state-level races. Among the federal races targeted by Planned Parenthood Votes is Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, where U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans (R-CO) is facing a challenge from Colorado Rep. Manny Rutinel (D-Commerce City). In 2024 Evans beat former U.S. Rep. Yadira Caraveo (D-CO) by roughly 2,500 votes.
