Denver Chamber Signs On to Conservative Groups’ Special Session Demands, Then Tries to Clarify
Colorado’s legislature reconvened this week for a special session called for a single purpose: removing Initiatives 50 & 108 from this November’s ballot. The measures, backed by anonymous right-wing donors, would slash taxes so drastically that a bipartisan coalition of dozens of statewide groups wrote a letter to Governor Jared Polis two weeks ago, pleading with him to call the Legislature back to deal with the “significant and very real threat to all communities.”

Ballot Initiatives 50 & 108: Ready Colorado Protests Too Much
In a rare display of bipartisanship, advocacy groups from across the political spectrum joined together to call on Gov. Jared Polis (D-CO) to convene a special session of the state Legislature to negotiate the end of a pair of tax-cutting ballot initiatives that would gut the state’s budget so severely that even most conservative groups are opposed to them. Former CO GOP Leader: Republican Infighting Is an ‘Absolute Unadulterated Shit Show,’ Risks Statehouse Races
After more than a decade of public service, Colorado Springs Republican Mark Waller has not been an elected official for over three years, and given his party’s current state of chaos, that suits him just fine. The former house minority leader served in the Statehouse and more recently as an El Paso County commissioner before leaving office in 2020 after losing a primary for District Attorney.
CO Clerk Peters: Boebert Ate With Her & Other Conspiracists After They Copied Vote Data
When former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters’ trial begins tomorrow, she will face multiple felony charges related to her alleged role in copying secure voter data from county servers back in 2021. Two years ago, she claimed that Congresswoman Lauren Boebert dined with her and other election fraud conspiracists the day after the illegal copying occurred. Peters says she, Boebert’s former campaign manager Sherronna Bishop, an unnamed Mesa County Commissioner candidate, and ex-surfer turned election fraud conspiracist Conan Hayes, dined together on a Monday evening, following the Sunday afternoon breach of the voting data server.
After Calling on His Party’s Leadership to Resign, Will Evans Disavow Their Support?
Last Friday Republican congressional candidate Gabe Evans publicly called on his own state party chair to resign, and for the party’s central committee to vote him out if he refused to step down. GOP calls for Williams to step down boiled over last month when Williams sent a vicious anti-gay missive via the party’s email account attacking anyone who supports Pride month.
After Calls to Resign, CO GOP Chair Paid Himself in Advance
In the days following the first public call by another party leader for a vote on his removal, Colorado GOP Chair Dave Williams took two actions: he announced the censure of that leader by her fellow executive committee members, and paid himself his next month’s consulting fee in advance.
