The Pro-Life Colorado Coalition was formed this month to formally bring 21 of the anti-abortion groups in Colorado together to work toward having a united voice.
The Pro-Life Colorado Coalition initially joined together to try to stop the Reproductive Health Equity Act (REAH) that passed the Colorado legislature this year. Many of the groups’ representatives testified in both houses of the legislature to try to stop RHEA, which codified abortion rights in Colorado law.
With the recent overturn of Roe v. Wade, which granted women legal access to abortions, and many states passing restrictive laws on abortions, Colorado has become known as a safe haven for women seeking a safe and legal abortion.
“Across the country, and here in Colorado, abortion rights are under attack from GOP politicians who want to ban abortion in all cases – here in our state, we won’t let that happen,” States Rep. Froelich (D-Denver) in a news release. “Coloradans have made it clear that they want to keep abortion legal in our state. I’m proud Governor Polis has signed the Reproductive Health Equity Act into law to safeguard reproductive rights in Colorado
