The Bell Policy Center, a Colorado organization that advocates for family economic security and equal opportunity, is calling on community members to share programs, projects, and other efforts that have successfully helped Colorado families get and stay ahead.
The initiative, called Ideas that Work, aims to share stories of Coloradans coming together to help solve an issue facing their community.
Rather than simply drawing attention to the challenges Coloradans face, the organization hopes to highlight efforts to implement solutions and restore faith in institutions that try to make progress happen. It also seeks to unite around a renewed sense of purpose following an extremely divisive election.
Among the organization’s examples of ideas that work are ReHire, a transitional jobs program that helps disadvantaged groups get the skills and experience needed to succeed in the workforce, and El Busesito, a mobile childhood education program that targets low-income, remote, and migrant communities.
