Last week’s vote by the conservative members of Aurora’s City Council to dissolve the Human Relations Commission (HRC), a citizen-run board that addresses concerns around inequities, racism, gender, and ableism, prompted outcry from the Aurora National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
Aurora’s municipal elections are underway, and while we have previously looked at who’s running for the at-large city council seats, there are three other wards up for election in November.
Five conservatives running for Aurora City Council have joined together to form a slate to promote their campaigns and key slogans. But one Republican candidate was excluded from the group.
