The future of the Colorado Republican Party appears to be focused on restricting voting and perpetuating the unfounded claim of widespread election conspiracy. The six candidates vying to head the state’s GOP spoke last Wednesday night at a forum held in Parker on the direction they would take the party–all of whom vowed to close primaries to unaffiliated voters and investigate voter fraud within the state.
Election fraud conspiracist Kari Lake, who very nearly became Arizona’s governor last fall, has endorsed another election denier in a nearby state: Colorado’s notorious former county clerk, Tina Peters, who is running to lead her state’s Republican Party despite facing multiple felony charges.

As part of his justification for claiming that “something was fishy with the 2020 election,” Walsh cited MyPillow CEO and Big Lie proponent Mike Lindell’s “great movies,” saying he’s watched them all.
Conspiracist clerk Tina Peters, who faces multiple felony charges for election-fraud-related crimes, answered questions at a pair of screenings of the faux-documentary “Selection Code” last week in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. The conspiracy movie, which stars Peters herself, makes debunked claims that not only the 2020 presidential election but also the 2021 Grand Junction municipal election were stolen from the rightful conservative winners.
During a Republican U.S. Senate candidate forum in February, Denver businessman and U.S. Senate candidate Joe O’Dea said he had friends who attended January 6, characterized it as a “rally,” and compared participants to those who took part in nationwide police brutality protests that occurred during the summer of 2020.
