Eighteenth Judicial District Attorney John Kellner, the Colorado GOP’s lone candidate for attorney general, faces an ethics complaint for his decision not to charge a former Douglas County undersheriff and campaign donor with misconduct despite a finding of probable cause by investigators.

A Republican party official from El Paso County is suing two of her own GOP colleagues along with Colorado’s Secretary of State in an attempt to overturn the results of last week’s county assembly. The lawsuit is just the latest salvo of party infighting that has plagued the state’s largest Republican county party in recent years. 

More than 250 people signed a petition to remove El Paso County GOP Vice Chair Karl Schneider from his seat, but a censure vote called last Saturday failed. Schneider has clashed repeatedly with Chair Vickie Tonkins, most recently publicly opposing a controversial proposal to amend the organization’s bylaws to allow party members to be exiled from the GOP for not aligning with the Republican Party platform.

A QAnon logo and images of hate leaders linked to the Jan. 6 insurrection were removed from the Facebook page of Colorado Springs Republican Women (CRSW) after the group was contacted by the Colorado Times Recorder.
