I’ve written in this space about Rep. Tim Leonard (R-Evergreen) before. He is one of the most radical members of the Colorado State Legislature. Well, he’s at it again, this time posting this video with a cryptic warning to know the cost/benefit trade-off regarding vaccinating children.
Parents are often criticized for the choices they make, but rarely are the structural issues that facilitate these choices addressed.
I’m continually astounded by the blatant hypocrisy that Republicans engage in, but even for the vice chairman of the Colorado GOP, who has a long track record of abandoning his so called “principles”, this is a stunning lack of self-awareness:
The forum for Colorado GOP state chair candidates Jeff Hays and George Athanasopoulos at the JeffCo Republican Women’s group forum on March 7 was mostly a wonk-fest, with the candidates each touting their plans to revitalize the Colorado GOP, but there were a few moments when the gloves came off that provided some excitement. The first was when George Athanasopoulos accused Jeff Hays of violating rules by endorsing Joel Miller—an accusation dismissed as a “fraud” by Hays.
In response to the growing outcry over the Congressional Budget Office’s estimate that 24 million Americans could lose their health insurance under a proposed GOP replacement plan, U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colorado) told a conservative talk radio host today that the Trump Administration should step up repealing the national health care law by taking actions that “won’t ever be scored by the Congressional Budget Office.”
If passed, the health care law put forward by congressional Republicans would probably mean six to 15 million Americans would lose their health insurance, according to various outside analysts.

A bill to ban conversion therapy for minors in Colorado, sponsored by State Rep. Paul Rosenthal (D-Arapahoe) and State Sen. Stephen Fenberg (D-Boulder), passed the House with a 38-27 bipartisan vote. The bill is now headed for the Republican controlled Senate where it was defeated twice before, in 2015 and 2016.
