The avalanche of sexual harassment and assault allegations that have dominated the media over the past several weeks got one Colorado lawmaker thinking, not about how we can create inclusive spaces where women are free of sexual harassment and assault, but rather if we might be better off delegating women to a separate sphere entirely.
In response to recent news of sexual harassment accusations against State Rep. Steve Lebsock (D-Thornton) and unacceptable behavior by “a number of Senate Republicans,” State Senate President Kevin Grantham (R-Cañon City) on Monday announced a “new sexual harassment prevention initiative.”
At a rally today to oppose the Trump administration’s weakening of the Obama-era mandate for employers to provide birth control coverage at no cost to patients, several reproductive rights advocates explained why affordable birth control is central to the health, well-being, and empowerment of women.
Following a rally Tuesday at the office of U.S Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO) in Aurora to oppose the House GOP tax plan, multiple people attempting to meet with Coffman’s staff and deliver tax-related notes written by rally-goers were turned away and asked to leave the notes outside the door.

State Sen. Kevin Lundberg (R-Berthoud), who’s running for state treasurer, is touting his endorsement by David Barton, who’s on the anti-LGBT hate list of the Southern Law Poverty Center (SPLC), which monitors “hate groups and other extremists throughout the United States.”
Former GOP Congressman Tom Tancredo believes national Republican Party leaders and donors will “probably” attempt to torpedo his gubernatorial campaign, as they apparently did last time he ran, dropping a quarter of a million dollars into an attack campaign that Tancredo thinks cost him the 2014 GOP gubernatorial nomination and handed it to former Congressman Bob Beauprez, a Republican, who went on to lose to Democrat John Hickenlooper.

Right-wing columnist Michelle Malkin has apparently endorsed Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo, according to a Facebook post of a well-known conservative activist.
Speaking at Colorado Christian University this morning, State Sen. Kevin Lundberg (R-Berthoud) promised to use his legislative power to change the rules of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission so that it would defend the rights of Lakewood baker Jack Phillips who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.
