As part of our weekly roundup of articles about political extremism in Colorado, the Colorado Times Recorder is featuring Erik Maulbetsch’s coverage of former CU Regent Heidi Ganahl’s press conference where she both called into question the results of the election she lost and announced a plan to recruit volunteers taken with election conspiracy theories to ‘monitor’ ballot boxes in the upcoming general election. Gays Against Groomers Event Outnumbered by Counter-Protestors

Last Saturday, a rally by Gays Against Groomers (GaG), a group that believes any form of gender-affirming healthcare is child abuse or ‘grooming’, was met with counterprotests. GaG, which was founded by a pro-Trump, conservative media specialist with ties to the ‘Stop the Steal’ movement, has held similar events, which it calls the “Stop the War On Children” rally, in Colorado before and across the country.

Congressional Candidate Trisha Calvarese Talks Unions, the Economy, World Affairs, and More

Trisha Calvarese, a Douglas County resident and communications specialist, is running to represent Colorado’s 4th congressional district. A political newcomer, Calvarese comes from a long line of union workers and worked for the AFL-CIO as director of speechwriting. Calvarese sat down with the Colorado Times Recorder to elaborate on why she is running and answer questions on the economy, the environment, foreign affairs, and more.
