Recent financial reports from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) reveal that billionaire Elon Musk is again making serious donations backing U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans’ (R-CO) campaign.

Via his America PAC, Musk has spent over $63,000 supporting Evans this year, including a $30,000 donation in the last 24 hours.
In the 2024 election cycle, Musk spent more than $860,000 backing Evans, according to FEC data.
During the last election, Musk donated about $290 million in support of President Donald Trump and other Republican candidates. With this, Musk was considered the biggest political donor in the election.
Musk’s money this year comes after Evans voted for bills that cut Medicaid, the federal-state health care program for low-income people, and gave tax breaks mostly to wealthy people, like Musk.
Evans has applauded Musk’s DOGE cuts, as reported by the Colorado Times Recorder.
Musk reportedly plans to spend over $120 million backing Republican campaigns this coming election.
“Gabe Evans voted to give billionaires like Elon Musk a tax break and championed his DOGE cuts that hurt Colorado veterans,” said Lindsay Reilly, a spokeswoman for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in a news release.
“Now, Musk is pouring money behind Evans’ flailing campaign to thank him for putting donors first and Coloradans last. No amount of money can rescue Evans from his own record of higher costs and health care cuts.”
Asked last week on the right-wing radio show Rush to Reason how his campaign was going, Evans sounded deflated, saying “One foot in front of the other,” possibly reflecting the headwinds he faces among voters angry at Trump, gas prices, the Iran war, and other affordability-related problems.
Evans office didn’t respond to an email seeking comment.
The No Going Back PAC, tied to President Donald Trump, gave a total of 1.5 million in support of Evans and U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank (R-CO) this election cycle.
The battle between Evans and his opponent, Democrat Manny Rutinel, will likely help determine which party controls the U.S. House after the midterm elections. The district, northeast of Denver, is considered one of the most competitive in the country.
