Wednesday, August 19
Reclaiming Democracy from Citizens United — 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. — Virtual Event
From the organizers: “Citizens United gave corporations and Super PACs a permanent seat at the table in American democracy, and for years it has felt like there was no way back. That is not true. Right now, there are at least five serious, parallel efforts underway to reverse it, from Congress to the states to a first-of-its-kind convention strategy, and most Americans have never heard of any of them. Join Solidarity Warriors for “Reclaiming Democracy from Citizens United,” a deep dive into every major path forward. We will cover the People’s Amendment and the Abolish Super PACs Act in Congress, Maine’s fight to cap Super PAC contributions at $5,000 (now headed to the Supreme Court), Hawaii’s “Montana Plan” to limit the political power of corporations, Colorado’s Transparent Initiative, Project Leapfrog’s limited, non-partisan convention of states strategy to amend the Constitution directly, and take a look at what a real Model Constitutional Convention run by students actually produced.”
Say No to Hudson ICE Camp! — 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. — 50 Beech St., Hudson
From the organizers: “A NEW ICE CONCENTRATION CAMP WILL SOON BE OPENING 30 MILES FROM DENVER — OR WILL IT? The former Hudson Correctional Facility, closed in 2014, is being reopened as an ICE detention center. Community members have been attending Town Council meetings inside to ask questions during public comment. Join the Hudson community in peaceful protest outside town hall to demand investigation, transparency, and to protect our innocent neighbors!”
Gabe Evans Protest — 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. — I-25 Pedestrian Bridge, 281 W. 104th Ave., Northglenn
Weekly demonstration. From the organizers: “A peaceful gathering at the I-25 pedestrian overpass (for visibility) near Cinzetti’s in Northglenn, CO, to urge CO-8 Congressional Representative Gabe Evans to have the courage to speak with us, his constituents. We also want to let other residents of CD-8 know what Gabe is voting for.”
Thursday, August 20
Stand Up For Kids: Jeffco Community Coalition Rally — 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. — Sioux Dr. & Thunderbird Dr., Boulder
From a press release from the organizers: “Organized by Jefferson County coalition partners Rocky Mountain Equality, Jeffco PTA, Wheat Ridge for Equity, and Engage Jeffco Schools in support of students, as well as for Jeffco Public Schools and LGBTQ++ Inclusive Student Policies. The U.S. Department of Education’s threatened enforcement action—and the potential loss of up to $90 million in federal funding—places the district, its educators, and its students in an extraordinarily difficult position. We support the district’s decision to defend its inclusive policies, reject unsupported allegations concerning its compliance with Title IX, uphold Colorado’s strong protections against discrimination, and file a lawsuit seeking court guidance.”

Weekly demonstration. From the organizers: “South Boulder Visibility Brigade invites you to a weekly visibility event on the pedestrian bridge at Foothills Pkwy and Sioux Ave in Boulder. Come protest the regime and publicize/push back against recent takeover attempts. Bring your own sign if desired, but we will have banners/letters and signs to borrow.”

Weekly demonstration. From the organizers: “We gather peacefully at Gabe Evans’ Northglenn Office every Friday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to urge him to have the courage to speak with us, his constituents. We plead with him to defend our Freedom, our Constitution, and our Democracy. We protest Gabe Evans’ weakness as he remains silent in the face of the staggering level of corruption and other unconstitutional actions of this administration.

From the organizers: “We are canvassing in Greeley to hold Congressman Gabe Evans accountable! This is one of the most competitive districts in this election, and we know that Gabe Evans only won by a few thousand votes. That is why We the Fighters, a grassroots team of volunteers, is holding weekly canvasses to talk to our neighbors in CO-08. We are building a powerful movement to hold Rep. Evans and his allies in Congress accountable by organizing thousands of our neighbors across the district who are in danger of losing their healthcare or food assistance. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be talking with people directly impacted by these cuts, helping them connect the dots between what has happened, who is responsible, and how they can hold Rep. Evans accountable.”

From the organizers: “A lawsuit filed July 23 may be the best chance to stop the Big Horn ICE detention facility from opening in Hudson — and the attorney who brought it is coming to talk with us. Join IDA for a conversation with David Seligman of Towards Justice, the Denver nonprofit that filed suit against the Town of Hudson. The case argues that Hudson’s own zoning code doesn’t permit the facility, and that after 12 years of vacancy, the permit that once allowed the site to operate as a prison has expired. Come hear what’s happening and how you can help.”

How We Regulate AI in Colorado — 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. — Bemis Public Library, 6014 S. Datura St., Littleton
From the organizers: “Indivisible Littleton is pleased to present AI policy expert Dhivahari Vivek, who will offer an overview of the AI and tech legislation landscape in Colorado, focusing on the state legislature’s agenda during the 2026 session. She will explain key issues at the heart of those bills and outline the policy priorities and overall trends regarding technology legislation in Colorado. Dhivahari Vivek is the inaugural AI and Technology Policy Fellow with the Institute for Science and Policy. Her prior research background is in privacy, surveillance, and algorithmic accountability issues. She currently works as a resident AI and tech policy researcher with CO Legislative Council staff, the nonpartisan research wing of the CO General Assembly. In her work, she answers research requests and questions from members of the Colorado General Assembly on tech and AI issues, and creates publicly available policy research educating legislators, staff, and the general public on everything they need to understand Colorado’s current tech policy priorities.”
Digital Realities: Protecting Youth in the Digital Age — 4 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. — Ent Center for the Arts, 5225 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs
From the organizers: “The digital world plays an important role in how young people learn, connect, and build relationships, but it also presents risks many families may not fully recognize. From online exploitation and unsafe interactions to rapidly changing apps and platforms, protecting children and teens requires awareness, open conversations, and practical tools. Join TESSA of Colorado and the ICAC Task Force for Digital Realities, a free community conversation focused on online safety. Presentations from Roblox, TikTok, the Colorado Springs Police Department, TESSA, and other community groups will offer insight into digital risks, prevention strategies, and ways families can help young people use technology safely and responsibly.”
