The Colorado Democratic Party has announced the date and program of their third annual DemFest, which aims to give Coloradans a chance to “hear from union and community leaders, elected officials, and candidates for statewide office and take part in live candidate forums focused on the issues shaping our state,” according to the party website.

To be held at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday, the event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering a variety of discussions among Democrats hosted by both Seth Masket, a former University of Denver political science professor and author of The SMOTUS Report substack, and Robin Kniech, a former Denver city councilwoman.

Masket is set to moderate five discussions, including a forum for Democratic attorney general candidates Hetal Doshi, Michael Dougherty, Jena Griswold, and David Seligman.

Kniech will host simultaneous discussions throughout the day, including a morning fireside chat with state Sen. Julie Gonzales of Denver.

At the end of the event, both hosts will come together to moderate a gubernatorial forum featuring U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet and Attorney General Phil Weiser.

“This is a moment when people want to be involved because they’re worried about their country and want to know how our Party is ready to lead,” said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib in a news release. “Coloradans are looking for leaders focused on lowering costs, protecting freedoms, improving public safety and delivering results. DemFest will bring together the people organizing, campaigning and fighting for Colorado’s future.”

Later in the month, starting on June 26, the Rocky Mountain Voice, a conservative media platform, will host its two-day Freedom Festival in Castle Rock.

The event will feature conservative figures such as Greg Gutfeld, host of ‘Gutfeld!’ and New York Times bestselling author, as well as Nick Shirley, a right-wing YouTube personality.

The event website explains that the event is focused on “mobilizing the ideas, voices, and communities that shape the next century of American freedom.”
