Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition: “From Many Paths, One Home: The Colorado Story” Documentary Screening & Panel — 7 – 8:30 p.m. — Denver, Specific Location Provided Upon Registration

From the organizers: “The Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition will host a special screening and panel discussion in Denver to showcase three new mini-documentary films featuring the lives, hopes, and resilience of Colorado immigrants. CIRC launched a narrative and storytelling campaign to directly confront and dismantle the dominant, harmful narratives surrounding immigrants and new arrivals. This work became urgently necessary when Aurora, Colorado, found itself at the center of a national media firestorm—with sensationalized coverage of Venezuelan gang activity fueling fear and division. For decades, opponents of immigrant justice have shaped the immigration debate using misleading claims that create fear, spread confusion, and divide communities. Those narratives overlook the real, complex drivers of the immigration system: corporations that benefit from low-wage labor, ongoing racial inequities, and an economy that leaves many workers vulnerable. The Colorado Story campaign is rooted in the belief that stories have the power to change hearts and minds. Through real, human narratives, the campaign aims to shift how people see immigration and their newly arrived neighbors.”
