A plane towing a banner that reads “NO ICE AT SUPER BOWL Text MELT to 668366” is currently circling Denver’s Empower Field, where the Broncos are about to take on the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game.
MoveOn Civic Action, which created the banner and hired the plane, urges the NFL not to allow President Trump’s ICE agents at the 2026 Super Bowl and encouraging NFL fans to make their voice heard.
The banner comes the day after a masked ICE agent murdered Alex Jeffrey Pretti and after another agent murdered Renee Good in Minneapolis earlier this month. As public opinion continues to sour on ICE’s unchecked violence, pressure mounts on the NFL ahead of the most-viewed televised event of the year. A MoveOn Civic Action petition calling on the NFL to keep ICE out of the Super Bowl has more than 150,000 signatures and counting.
The 2026 Super Bowl will take place at Levi’s Stadium
in Santa Clara, California on February 8. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem has previously made comments that federal immigration officers would be “all over” the Super Bowl this year. But following aggressive immigration raids carried out in Chicago and Minneapolis, public polling shows that more Americans now describe ICE’s operations as “going too far,” – with the majority reporting that ICE is making communities less safe, and saying the agency’s tactics are “too tough.”
