Thursday, August 14:
Break the Siege! Pro-Palestine Rally – 12:30 p.m. – Location: 707 17th Street, Denver, CO
This event will see protesters gather in downtown Denver in opposition to the starvation killing of innocent civilians in Palestine along the Gaza Strip. The protest is being organized by the Colorado Palestine Coalition, Denver Anti-War Action, Denver Freedom Road Socialist Organization, Denver DSA, Jewish Voices for Peace, and the United States Palestinian Community Network. “Big Bill Fallout” Town Hall in Gypsum – 5-7 p.m. – Location: 47 Lundgren Boulevard Gypsum, CO 81637
Colorado Democrats have launched a series of town halls to “make sure Coloradans know exactly who is responsible for our state’s $1.2 billion budget shortfall: Colorado’s Republican Congressional Delegation.” The first will be held in Gypsum tomorrow, but will take place across the state over the coming weeks. Saturday, August 16
CD7 Weekly Peace Vigil for Palestine – 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Location: 5250 Wadsworth Bypass, Arvada
The group CD7 Watermelon organizes a weekly vigil to call attention to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The event is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring signs and flags. Here is information on a similar past event.
Protest Against Tyranny – 11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Location: 5700 S Broadway, Littleton
This event was previously part of #TeslaTakedown, where activists protested billionaire Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and the richest man in the world, and his involvement in slashing public funds and federal departments. Activists plan to nonviolently protest his impact by demonstrating outside of local Tesla dealerships. The organizers wanted to broaden the scope of their action “as the authoritarian threat continues to evolve.” More information can be found here.
Lyons Neighbors 4 Democracy – 12-2 p.m. – Location: 233 Main St, Lyons, CO
This group meets every Saturday in Lyons. Their stated mission is to protest “the illegal, immoral, cruel, and destructive actions of the current administration and its accomplices.” This upcoming protest is part of a National Day of Action, specifically to stand with Texas House Democrats and the people of Washington, D.C.
“Big Bill Fallout” Town Hall in Durango – Details to Come
This is the second town hall that is part of Colorado Democrats’ “Big Bill Fallout” town hall series. Organizers are still planning this event; more details will be found here when they are made available.
Thursday, August 28
Christian Nationalism’s Impact on School Board Races – 5-7 p.m. – Location: 420 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO
This event is organized by Indivisible Colorado Springs to discuss Christian Nationalism, Project 2025, and the attempt to take over local school districts by right-wing political groups. More information can be found about it here.
