More than a hundred people turned out to Greeley’s Lincoln Park Saturday to participate in the latest Rage Against the Regime, 50501 protest.
Carrying signs and loaded with water and snacks, participants listened to speeches and then took part in a 45-minute march around the town square and through downtown Greeley, in the congressional district of Gabe Evans (R-CO).
While there were a variety of grievances being articulated in public statements and private conversations, the overriding message was outrage at Evans, who has yet to make an appearance at an in-person town hall in his district despite holding office for six months.

“We haven’t had the opportunity to call out his dishonesty,” said Karissa Beresford, an Evan’s constituent dressed as Alice in Wonderland to highlight Evan’s failure to “spill the tea.”
“He has promised over and over again to hold a town hall,” she said.
But to date, Evans has only held a “telephone” town hall with pre-selected questions from people on the call.
“I’d like to see someone beat him in his next race,” said Whitney Morgan of Evans, Colorado. “Even his family has come out denouncing his lies about the immigration of his grandparents.”
Participants in Saturday’s protest included members of The Courthouse Steps Group, the Greeley Weld Indivisible Coalition, ProgressNow, the People’s Town Hall, and the Democratic Socialists of America.
“Where’s Gabe?” asked one protestor as he rode his bike and baby trailer through the park, “Where’s that Evans Guy?”
Evans won Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, which is located mostly north and east of Denver, by fewer than 2,500 votes last November. It’s the most competitive district in Colorado and one of the most competitive in the entire country.
