On Thursday evening at around 5:30 p.m., thousands took to Denver’s streets to peacefully protest president-elect Donald Trump. They marched from the capitol building up and down 16th Street Mall with chants like “not my president,” “my body my choice,” “white silence is violence,” and “say it loud, say it clear, immigrants are welcome here.”

A smaller group continued later into the night, marching down Colfax Ave. and 17th Ave. before reaching I-25 at around 10:30 p.m., where they stopped traffic for nearly half an hour.

Police used pepper balls to clear the interstate, but no arrests were made and no one was injured.
